How to use it

  1. Pick a preset or type a duration such as 7m, 1h30 or 90s.
  2. Press Start or the space bar. The tab title shows the time left, so you can switch tabs.
  3. When the time is up you hear a two-tone station gong. Press Stop or Reset (R).
  4. Every tool on the board below works the same way and remembers your settings on this device.

Clockyard is a small set of clocks that run in your browser. The timer counts against your device clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays right even when the tab sits in the background for an hour.

Nothing is sent to a server: your presets, alarm and Pomodoro settings stay in this browser's local storage.

Questions

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. It stores the moment it should end and compares against the clock, so a background tab cannot slow it down. The sound is scheduled in advance with the Web Audio API.

Can I use it offline?

Yes. After your first visit the pages are cached, and you can install Clockyard as an app from your browser menu.

Is it free?

Yes, every tool is free and needs no account.

Why a station clock?

Railway clocks are designed to be read at a glance from across a hall. We borrowed their clear dial, black on white, and the red second hand.
