Press F for full screen, handy on a projector or a kitchen tablet.

Tick “Notify me” to get a system notification if the window is hidden when time runs out.

You can link straight to a duration: add ?t=25m (or ?t=90s, ?t=1h30) to the address and the timer opens ready to go.

If the timer has already ended, the board shows how long ago in small print, so you know how late the pasta is.

Questions

How accurate is this timer?

It is as accurate as your device clock: it records the end time and recalculates on every frame, instead of counting one-second ticks that browsers delay in background tabs.

Will the alarm ring if my screen locks?

On a computer, yes, as long as the browser stays open. Phones often suspend web pages when locked; turn on “Keep screen awake” for short timers on a phone.

What is the longest timer I can set?

99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. For dates further away use the countdown page.

Can I change the sound?

Yes: station gong, beeps, bell or silent, with a volume slider. Your choice is remembered.
